Local taxpayers face footing a £306,000 bill following the failures of Conservative council bosses to deliver a Local Plan for the Arun area.
This means that Conservative-run Arun District Council is being forced to shell out a whopping £306,000 on extra consultancy fees.
Liberal Democrat Councillor Dr James Walsh slammed the Conservative-run Council for failing to deliver a Local Plan. James explained: "Arun District Council has had one of the biggest disasters in its entire history through this local plan. It’s not just one car crash, it has been a series of car crashes with potentially more to come. We haven’t learnt from history.
"We were recently sermonised by the [Conservative] cabinet member on how it was everyone else’s fault. Government was blamed, change of ministers was blamed, everybody was blamed. But this Conservative-run Council must accept it's share of the blame too."
